Jim Burge is a writer and maker of television programmes.  He tells stories using moving pictures, words and music. Because the stories are mostly true the programmes are called documentaries. Above are images from his films

    Heloise and Abelard His most recent project is not a film at all but a book. Heloise and Abelard: A Twelfth Century Love Story (Harper Collins, December 2004) uses newly discovered letters to tell the story of the medieval lovers who writings give us a very human insight into this absorbing story from a distant age - Intelligent, clearly written ... lucid and perceptive” (Independent) “opens up this tale with sympathy and directness … beautifully explained” (Daily Mail).     Resume/CV He started his career as a programme maker with BBC Television but has been freelance for twelve years. During this time he has written and directed programmes for the BBC and Channel Four in Britain, SDR in Germany, and PBS and the Discovery Channel in the United States.       Writing He also occasionally writes about television for the Independent on Sunday. Because, like most programme makers, he got fed up with television reviews being about the content not the programme itself he started to write reviews from the point of view of a programme maker.
